The Mighty Nein's Introductory Sequence Chose the Wrong Popular RPG Show Track

The Mighty Nein, the most recent animated series from the beloved role-playing group, unveiled an exciting introductory sequence. It features our favorite group of outcasts, misfits, and rogues kicking ass and making their mark, while also hinting at several heart-wrenching backstories for key figures including the voice actor's mage Caleb, and Travis Willingham's orc warlock, Fjord.

Overall, the opening looks stunning. However, I felt that an element was lost in the music selection.

This sequence uses "Welcome to the Continent", an exceptional composition created by producer and singer Colm McGuinness. It's a track from the official score of the same name, the second one put out by the production company's music division Scanlan Shorthalt Music. It's a wonderful nostalgic choice, and I believe that fans of the second campaign will appreciate its presence.

Personally, The Mighty Nein's intro fails to capture the hype and excitement that was part of the show's actual-play adventure. "It's Your Turn", written by musician the artist, became an immediate hit in my view when it was first revealed in that year, and it only got better when cast member the performer wrote words to the tune for the series' animated intro in the later year.

Including singing from one actress, another performer, Travis Willingham, as well as the writer, the song was catchy and fun. At the time, I hadn't seen the second campaign yet, but this was such an earworm that I still saved it on my phone. This track that knows how to get you pumped before you dive into an installment of adventurous fun.

The Mighty Nein's intro with "the new song" fails to hit the same chords for me. It's an impressive composition, but from what I know of this party, I feel that its tone is somewhat mismatched.

Of course, the creators has already said that the animated show will have some changes and variations from the actual-play campaign. A tonal change for its opening appears as among these.

This animated adventure will be released on the streaming service from Nov. 19. If you can't wait until then, or want a head start to learn about the personas of the second series, the original episodes are available on the audio platform and YouTube.
