'Living a Nightmare': Families of Missing Young People Desperately Seek Answers After Ski Resort Blaze

The families of teenagers lost after a deadly fire at a venue in a Swiss winter destination are enduring an agonising period of uncertainty for confirmed information and appealing for any details about their family members publicly.

The inferno ripped through the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Alps of the Valais region, in the early hours of New Year's Day. Confirmed video show the ceiling igniting as beverages with fireworks are raised in celebration.

Emergency services have indicated that it could take an extended period to identify the fatalities of the fire, which killed four dozen individuals and injured another 119. A spokesperson stated on Friday that 113 of the injured have been accounted for, with the process still underway to locate the other six.

In the meantime, relatives have been taking to the internet to plead for information about their friends who were at the bar that fateful night.

Appeals for the Missing

The whereabouts of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, 16, are not yet determined, according to an appeal from his mother.

The resident of a town near Lausanne, told a publication that she had gone back to the city to see if he was in the hospital, while his other parent did the equivalent search in the capital, but did not locate him.

"It feels like a terrible dream, a horror. The options are finding my son in the hospital mortuary, or I find him in critical condition. It's horrific," she said.

She added that some of his companions had been discovered with injuries covering nearly half their bodies. "It's unspeakable; they went through an absolute nightmare."

The Italy's government has confirmed that six of its young people have not been located.

Teenage sportsman Emanuele Galeppini, 16, was last in contact around the turn of the new year on December 31st, as stated by.

One of those is Emanuele Galeppini, a teenage junior golfer, originally from Genoa but now residing in Dubai.

The Italian Golf Federation has released a tribute that he is no longer with us, without mentioning the tragedy, paying tribute to a "young athlete who represented dedication and authentic values."

His parent, told media that his son was at the bar and was last heard from around the new year. An official spokesperson has stated that a formal confirmation of his death is still pending.

Other Missing Individuals

Giovanni Tamburi, sixteen, is likewise unaccounted for. His mother explained that he had been on holiday but had ventured out with a group and ended up at the bar.

"A companion told me they fled after the fire broke out and that he had his phone with him, but then at a certain point he couldn't see him anymore," she said, adding he had been wearing a distinctive piece of jewelry.

One of his educators stated, "He was known for his good nature and smile, alongside great maturity. Often offer to get me a coffee."

Alice Kallergis, who holds both Swiss and Greek nationality but lives full-time in Switzerland, was also at the bar on New Year's Eve, according to media.

Her sibling has published an urgent request on social media, saying the family has had "no updates" regarding the teenager or the three friends she was with, who are also reported missing.

Officials from her country of origin say they are actively engaged with the situation.
